Here is my take on why Elixir is the best language for AI: immutability, documentation, stability, and tooling for coding agents. It builds on the recent study in which Elixir had the highest completion rate across models among 20 different languages. Link in the thread below.

Just encountered one of the most convincing Google account takeover scams I’ve seen. Perfect American accent. Calm. Professional. They start the call by saying someone tried to hack your Google account using a fake death certificate, then ask if you recognize a recovery email

A few random notes from claude coding quite a bit last few weeks. Coding workflow. Given the latest lift in LLM coding capability, like many others I rapidly went from about 80% manual+autocomplete coding and 20% agents in November to 80% agent coding and 20% edits+touchups in

Just realized majority of the west thinks Iranian people are Muslim…this explains a lot. I think BBC etc have been so reluctant to report on this because it breaks the “identity” narrative. The Marxist framing is that people are reduced to a singular identity.

Tehran’s streets, and cities around the world, echo with the footsteps of Iranian women and men demanding freedom. Freedom to speak, to gather, to travel and above all to live freely. Europe stands fully behind them. We unequivocally condemn the violent repression of these

Trump did seem presidential and dare I say coherent in that meeting with European leaders.

Just figured out where these fake tariff rates come from. They didn't actually calculate tariff rates + non-tariff barriers, as they say they did. Instead, for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us. So we
It's also important to understand that the tariff rates that foreign countries are supposedly charging us are just made-up numbers. South Korea, with which we have a trade agreement, is not charging a 50% tariff on U.S. exports. Nor is the EU charging a 39% tariff.

Free speech and truth are unrelated concepts. Like anarchy and freedom. People have such different understandings of simple concepts, it is frankly amazing that we’ve managed to coordinate societies to any extent at all.

Actors worry about AI taking their jobs, but seems to me they should be more imminently concerned about competing with Colin Farrell.

This pair of posts - Ackman and Tilson - is as good a debate as you'll see anywhere on the choice Americans must make. It's sad that the real choice in this election is which set of negatives you most dislike.

@Lemonade_Inc Talk to Wandhana who deals with Netherlands claims. Hurts to see @daschreiber talking about big profits and charity #LemonadeGiveback2024 while the people that actually pay the company money for insurance are getting screwed. Honestly feel like you are trying to rob us again.

So the only meta service which currently works is the one powered by Erlang? 🤔 That's a good intro to #CodeBEAM

I would love a service that enables me to easily buy produce from farms that are doing things right and treats their land and ours with the respect it needs.

There are still many farmers who are very innovative and adaptable and hard working and who has perspective and appreciation for the challenge we all face. I hope they are supported by commercial capital. EU should let bad farmers fail.

More robotic urban farming and supporting food imports from Africa would go long way to improve things. Lots of misused farm land can be better used for power generation and forestry to support sustainable building and expand new build housing.
