I hear you. Although pushing cars was fun, I prefer my current line of work: fly pushing.
Attending a manual handling course this morning. Figure 1 is a slide that was shown as the instructor said “of course you should never have to push a car as part of work…” Figures 2 and 3 are from a research paper from 2015 about pushing cars for fun!

Another spherical treadmill, 20x bigger than ours, and also shared as #openhardware – with a great and detailed assembly instruction.
Typically used for mouse behavior in virtual reality, this design fits a 20 cm Styrofoam ball. The sensor box was optimized for easy disassembly, and control of the distance between sensor and ball.

I can't believe it's almost 5 years since I helped @klarenstwo implement her game-changing video-stimulated recall method as part of @CogNovians. Good times! I am glad to see that her publication verify and suggests the method for many more applications

You ever build a new system and think: "How could I possibly describe this in only [insert journal's word limit] words?" This great thread does the impossible and summarizes our manuscript in 7 tweets – including meme.
You ever see an insane assay and think, "Sure, I could do that if I had the resources of [insert institution], but no one can replicate that in the wild!" Well @fra_loe and @MichaelBReiser are here to break the stereotype, with a fly-on-a-ball for <$300!

I am fascinated by complexity emerging out of seemingly simple building structures. In 2019 I joined Michael Reiser's lab at Janelia to learn more about the mechanisms that lead from visual input to

I saved the best for last: We share the component designs at and developed the parts with @FreeCADNews, @kicad_pcb, @inkscape (open formats, software freely available on major platforms).
