The words āquantum gravityā, in any reasonable use of English, should refer to the quantum mechanics of the gravitational field. These experiments probe that in a very definite sense.
This is interesting, but it's not quantum gravity.

These experiments test if spacetime can be put in quantum superposition. CHSH experiments tested if reality is nonlocal. Having strong priors on these questions is reasonable. Saying that they do not do something new is, however, simply a religious Bayesian prior of 100%.
@davethebiasio @postquantum @four_form @CburgesCliff These experiments do not require the introduction of any new or unknown physics to explain what is going on. What people mean by "quantum gravity" is a theoretical framework that contains and supersedes General Relativity and standard quantum field theory. This is not that.

I think few people have been in both of these countries, but I still struggle to know what to say now. Above all, I am thinking of all my people, and all the people, in both places, who I know crave the peaceful coexistence which is so clearly possible -- I hope it comes soon.

The third picture is a remarkable man I met in east Tehran in 2007. I think about him often. He was one of the last Jews living there and had an amazing store full of Persian Judaica. Told me all his family had moved to Israel or the US, but he couldn't give up his homeland.

I have spent much time and have so many memories, friends, and colleagues in both Iran and Israel. It's beyond painful to watch missiles exchanged between such rich, intellectual, warm cultures -- all because of a pair of barbaric governments. (1/3)
