@Uber claimed in front of the entire convention that they have implemented accessibility into their development process while show stopping bugs still exist in the app. They have lost my trust yet again. #NFB23

Very disappointed with the presentation from @Uber at #NFB23. Empty promises from an employee who has been at the company for 10 years, and things have only gotten worse for guide dog users during that period. If Uber is ready to work with us I'll believe it when I see it.

I'll also add that the @United employee approached me, since this sort of issue is so pervasive, I know better than to ask airport employees for assistance. United, and all airlines, need to engage in some serious training on how to respectfully interact with disabled customers.

She insisted that I wait for an employee to escort me to the exit, and when my partner arrived, she would only speak to her. The last thing I want to do at 12:15 in the morning is argue with an ableist employee to get the info I need. @united please do better!

Last night, I had an incredibly discriminatory experience with a @United gate agent. She refused to give me directions to exit the terminal because, according to her, the terminal layout was confusing and another blind person and their guide dog had gotten lost.

Can everyone please stop adding their Mastodon usernames to their Twitter names? It’s really frustrating for screen reader users. Hearing them being read out loud when scrolling down my timeline isn’t fun. Add it to your bio or make a pinned tweet instead.

The delay between the live general session and Zoom audio is less than a second. Good option for anyone hard of hearing and needing a direct audio stream to be able to hear better. #NFB22
