Councillor FitzGerald, who has been a vocal proponent for keeping the Carney open in some capacity to serve emergency needs of the public, is also on the scene and engaged in intense conversations inside and outside the facility with staff from the Healey and Wu administrations.

The hospital is all but abandoned. Skeleton crew, Steward has left the building. Some people taking pictures off the walls, with permission.
I checked. This number is functioning. Asked whether Emergency Dept. is still open right now. It is, but was advised it's probably better to call 9-1-1 to ask Boston EMS where to go. Steward already burdening the local system with abrupt closure, aided and abetted by Comm of Mass
