On Oct. 24, 2024, American members of the @foresthistory BOD had an opportunity to tour the historic Petawawa Research Forest, hosted by the Canadian Forest Service of @NRCan to see Canada’s oldest research forest and to learn of Indigenous forest knowledge and land stewardship.

@forestservice It must have worked. Team USA would go on to win 24 track medals, including 12 golds, and set 6 world records in Mexico City. **For more on this story, see the book "The Track in the Forest" by Bob Burns

So the @forestservice gave permission to install a temporary track on the Eldorado National Forest. The caveat was to have as little impact on the environment as possible, resulting in a literal track in the forest where at points you couldn't even see to the opposite side.
