In his defence, maybe he’s got loads of stuff in his car for work, like tools, and or plans to go elsewhere after collecting keys etc. Or maybe he’s disable? Or that section of the road is hard to cross on foot and saves him a long walk in real terms. Lots of reasons.

When I was a practicing attorney I tried this exact move, I found this baker from Long Island to stand in and trick the only eye witness. Sadly, I was less thorough with his alibi & he’s now serving 3 consecutive life sentences, but at least my client was freed, so still a win 🤷🏼♂️
