It's a marathon in front of us. People who love everybody, listen to scientists, tell the truth, and seek to do good in the world will have much work in front of us, frequently unrewarded at first. We have been preparing. Have a good race. See you on the course!

Well-planned and strategic initiatives for dramatic carbon reduction are LESS disruptive and kinder to all travelers ... even aviation travelers ... than the current oblivious trajectory. Just taking one sector, for example, intentional #flyingless strategy is a gentle policy.
As #dana hits Catalonia, after leaving a trail of destruction in Valencia, El Prat is the latest in a list of airports being disrupted by extreme climate events this year, which are fueled by the aviation industry's greed. We need to act now to bring aviation to the ground.

Our next event is on Monday, when we'll be joined by a panel of experts to discuss the question "Is attending conferences in real life worth the carbon footprint?" Join us online at 7.30pm on Monday 4th November https://t.co/RJTu6IrEO9

Failing to tax #aviation fuel was a missed opportunity in this week's budget - we show in our new infographic that it can be done @_wearepossible @transenv_UK #Budget2024

While traveling by train and bus to Belize, my daughter Keziah (yellow t-shirt and blue shorts) met the delightful enthusiastic Telugu-language YouTube celebrity @Naanveshanaa, who is a brilliant cross-cultural communicator. This has 400k views in 2 days.

Our friend Parke was filming alongside the High Tide and High Time for Climate Action event on Saturday! Here's our article about the event:
xrboston.org
Participants shared motivational speeches and danced in the knee-deep water, dressed as “the dead” to protest government inaction on the climate crisis.
At Long Wharf in Boston, on a sunny day in October, we discuss history tourism, sea level rise, and the misleading understatement of CO2 emissions in an official report from Logan Airport across the harbor. A Red Rebel silently passes through the frame.

Very odd for the government to announce an airport expansion against the recommendation of the Climate Change Committee on a day their industrial strategy claims to have green growth at its heart and boasts about UK decarbonisation

Twitter (X) feels like a once-lively party where friends have left and combative drunk gangs have moved in. Some competitors feel like standing in the corner, not knowing if there is more fun happening on a different floor. Blu*sky does seem promising recently. Say "hi" there?!

In local tourism, on our street in Massachusetts, we saw the Aurora Borealis last night for the first time ever.

It was heartwarming to see the community members turning out in support for our court appearance. The MA port authority should not double private jet infrastructure in the midst of a climate emergency whose effects we see around us in the form of more ferocious hurricanes.

I can't resist one more photo, because the day is beautiful and the subject is fascinating. This appears to be wind turbines being prepared for installation offshore. The low-carbon world we fervently wish for is feasible, within what economists call our "option set."

My office window on Amtrak just now is the Connecticut coastline, while on my way home from business travel in DC.

Both at work and on his cycling tours, Tim is living now in the better climate-friendly world that we wish for.
First leg of the world's longest commute to work- bus replacement service from Bedford to Hitchin, then a train to London. Couldn't trust Thameslink to get me in tomorrow morning for the 0616 Eurostar to Amsterdam, so heading down tonight and staying in a hostel near the station.

The replies are stinging with anti-gay hate and climate denial, but I said what I said, and I have no regrets.
For church this week, my message was a bit like the old tale of stone soup. We THINK we do not have much to offer on the climate crisis, but, as we start to tally up what little we have, we find more than we thought. https://t.co/FM0PEcS0sZ

@ExtinctionR @JustStop_Oil How should you get involved in climate action? In whatever way best fits your talents! Don't let fossil fuel propaganda trick you into wasting your precious energy on intramural criticism of approaches you dislike. Just do your thing and feel our affection and support! (8/8)
