So this happened yesterday evening… I passed my final command check operating LHR-NCE-LHR. After many aviation jobs, airlines and all on the Airbus, I am so happy to say I’ve reached the dream. Looking forward getting back flying tomorrow as a Captain 👨🏻✈️

So some good news today, I’ve been offered a job & I’ve accepted. I will be a customer delivery driver for a well known supermarket starting next month all going well. Got to be happy & grateful in these times & just getting a positive outcome from an interview has been amazing.

I’m not going to lie, I’m seriously missing my livelihood & flying. It’s a massive part of who I am & what I enjoy in life. It may be hard to comprehend to some but when you do something you really love, spend time & money on to get there it really hurts when you can’t do it.

So today is my last day as a delivery driver for Waitrose, I’m halfway through my 17 drop route in the lovely ☀️. It’s been a great 10 months working here, helping the local community & having a purpose again after redundancy. I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity.

Thought I’d give you a small insight into my non-flying world! This is what I do now & how we get your deliveries fresh & safe to your door. 16 drops yesterday afternoon, we can take a maximum of 56 ambient crates, 42 chilled & 16 frozen crates. Almost maxed out but all ontime 👍🏼

Some good news today, passed my delivery driver assessment this afternoon. Won’t be let loose just yet, still some training & stuff to learn. As this is all new to me along with retail/supermarkets, I’m getting to grips, but always learning! Looking forward to getting out 🚛💨

Today marks my 1 year anniversary of returning back to BA, not sure where that year has gone but it’s been quick! I’m pleased things are busy & grateful to be flying, hopefully for the foreseeable future. 17 years in the aviation industry in many roles has certainly been a ride!

So today’s solo delivering went exceptionally well. All deliveries were on schedule & no dramas, however a slightly non-standard van issued to me was a little curve ball but didn’t make any problems. Hopefully things will continue like this 🤞🏼Have a great weekend everyone! 🚛💨

10 years ago today I left my job in operations control at Monarch to pursue my path as a pilot by taking the plunge into full time flight training. That was a rollercoaster too but totally worth it! Not sure I’ve had so many ups and downs in my life being in aviation 🤣
