Visited my old kickboxing gym this morning and did some rounds with my old coach and some other members. It’s interesting how my tolerance for distance management has changed from doing grappling for 2 years. Took me a second to realize safe/not safe distances again.

I think it’s perfectly legit to steal from the pure math people btw, i just think it’s funny we announce this shit like an Apple Keynote and it’s just like…polytopes and combinatorics stuff in the least formal presentation.

My functional position on this is that your ability to stay focused, make good choices, stay level headed, and be likable is far better for your career and quality of life than being big brained (barring certain highly cerebral professions) anyways.

It seems fairly obvious to me that intelligence is real, that there’s a major genetic to intelligence, and that it’s a useful thing to study and try to measure. I’m just not sure why the people who interact with the study of it insist on being stupid.
