My lower bound guess for how much fraud there is nationally is ~20% of the Federal budget, which would mean $1.5 trillion per year. Probably much higher.

This morning I took my first few sips of coffee and randomly thought to myself ‘oh maybe I could try to find out how many Somali childcare centers there are in WA?’ So I looked it up. And now over a million of you have seen my research. X is incredible.
There are 539 childcare centers in Washington state that list Somali as the primary language. Most don’t even give a street address. I don’t know how many of these are submitting fraudulent claims for state grants and subsidies, but I have a strong hunch the number is not zero.
