20/01/2026 - Implemented dropout for regularisation. Completed the layers module. Next: Losses (and possibly a side quest)
I no longer feel content just "plugging and playing" when it comes to backend and AI "work". I need first-principles knowledge, because a time will come when applying the fundamental knowledge of things to solve problems becomes necessary.

15/01/2026 *Back like I never left - Implemented layers; init, forward, and parameters Life happens but I’ll try to show up more

07/01/2026 1. Worked on parsing request headers. I admit i'm still building intuition and it's not all clear yet, but I'm sure working on it will fill the gaps in my understanding. 2. Not much progress implementing layers, but small progress. On to the next

05/01/2025 1. Built network layers intuition. Will implement tomorrow 2. Nothing on the server rn Slow day...will keep pushing

04/01/2026 1. Activation functions: built intuition, implemented Sigmoid, Tanh, ReLU, GELU, Softmax 2. Got stuck implementing a request class, found a video to watch (no shame in a tutorial in 2026 🥲) As you can tell, I'm avoiding directly using AI to code. Strategic madness😉

02/01/2026 - Began implementing request class; should finish up soon - Building intuition on activation functions & why neural nets need nonlinearity anyway A bit slow right now, but at least I'm consistent-ish

31/12/2025 -> 01/01/2025 1. Added CRLF support (I'm pretty sure it's shabby work right now, but I'll get better). Next, handle request headers 2. Finished Tensor class implementation. Next, activation functions. Happy New Year everyone 🙂

30/12/2025 1. Implemented request line parsing. Will update with CRLF 2. Matrix multiplications. Next, shape transformations Slow and steady

29/12/2025 1. Implemented socket receive and echo on top of TCP 2. Tensor creation + element-wise arithmetic Could've done more...but working on showing up in the first place🙂

28/12/2025 - Implemented TCP connection and port binding. Echos text you send to it - TinyTorch foundations. Implementing Tensor class (unfinished) Baby steps right?

27/12/2025 - Made a bit of progress with HTTP. Will start implementing tomorrow (hopefully) - Found TinyTorch by @profvjreddi . This provided much needed direction and aligns with the purpose of this learning challenge More updates soon. ML infra won't build itself!!

Indeed, zero-sum thinking is the root of so much envy and cynicism
We could achieve so much. Potential beauty is limitless. When I see people arguing from a zero-sum mindset I want to shake them and show them the future I see. We are just at the beginning. We will always be just at the beginning. Let go of envy and we’ll carry you there.

If you needed the glock You never valued the Bible 😅 A traditionalist would never have both side by side. Na wetin bird chop e dey use fly Faith isn't 2FA Christianity doesn't always have to be the scapegoat in your lopsided scenarios. Please rest.
A bandit attacks your home in the dead of night. He's armed to the teeth with a gun, ammunitions strapped to his body & grenades. As soon as he kicks open the front door to your house, you wake up & start to panic. But on your bedside drawer are three key items: 1. A Bible
