Also. just asking questions, even with an agenda, is not necessarily nefarious. It's the Socratic method, and a perfectly valid rhetorical technique. "Just asking questions", or JAQing off, is only really bad when you're using it to filibuster.
There is a form of asking questions that reveals an agenda. And there is a form of REFUSING to ask questions that reveals another agenda.

Personally, I think it sends a great signal that one of the world's greatest mathematicians can't even survive the university system, and may have to go find a research job in the private sector. The university system depends far too much on geniuses like Tao to salvage any.
There's been some griping here on X recently about Terrence Tao losing his research grant. And yes, I think this is a shame - I have enormous respect for the man. But. If you stand idly by as an academic while your university engages in illegal and immoral racial.
