HOW THE U.S. COULD LOSE BADLY In 2002, a retired Marine general sank the entire U.S. fleet in a war game using tactics Iran could use today. The Pentagon spent $250 million to learn this lesson. Then they buried it. A Thread 🧵

I'm not inventing anything and you implying as much is very much bad faith. The CIP's implementation plan literally says: 'The plan is to implement and integrate Ouroboros Tachýs into the Haskell reference implementation of the Cardano node.' And dcoutts spent multiple

@flantoshi Again, you're misunderstanding how these things work. Worst case, future node implementations diverge the code bases. The old code is still there, and still totally serviceable for the partner chain to use. I don't think it's fair to bind cardano in that way. Leios will likely

"it's too complex and expensive to follow that path." That's the real core of the Tachys debate, and to his credit he's raised it throughout. Arguing about $ is important. But it's also a different discussion than the definitional one about whether the CIP should even exist.

@flantoshi Forked drift is something that the CIP process won't forbid, unless we agree to internalise the cost of every development on mainnet to make it compatible with PCs. This is actually the core of the discussion. I think it's too complex and expensive to follow that path.

**Waystations and Destinations: The Strategic Choice Every Blockchain Project Faces** There are two ways to matter: be in the middle of everything, or be worth the trip. Crypto projects keep confusing the two 🧵

THE POINT Build the destination first. Make it worth visiting. The docking requests will follow. Apex Fusion must build enough value internally for integration to be the natural choice. But also Cardano should actually focus on fulfilling unmet promises 2 birds 1 stone?

BUILDING BOTH Smart projects maintain compatibility while building self-sufficiency. They don't depend on integration, but don't reject it either. Independence isn't isolation. It's having enough value that connections are choices, not dependencies.

THE APEX QUESTION Hoskinson promised an ETH-to-Cardano dApp converter years ago. Never materialized. Apex Fusion can actually deliver. The question is whether Cardano meets them halfway, or whether Apex builds enough gravity that it doesn't matter.

GRAVITY Nobody begs Tether or Bitcoin to integrate. They're massive enough that everyone else does the work. When you have enough gravity, ships come to you.

THE VULNERABILITY Apex Fusion is positioned as a waystation. Build here, reach everywhere. But waystations get bypassed. If someone builds a better bridge, your value evaporates. Destinations are harder to build but more durable.
