Starting in 2020, CMS will allow Medicare Advantage plans to offer #telehealth services as part of their basic benefits package. This will aid in increasing access to care, spur new delivery models & give patients more options on how they receive care.

The complexity of logistics associated with mobile (in-home) care shouldn't be underestimated--not surpised that @UPS is eyeing a move into this space. That said, the nuances and complexity of clinical care shouldn't be underestimated either.

One size doesn't fit all. A relentless drive to understand how high-need patients differ from others aids #digitalhealth innovators, payers, and providers in deploying the most impactful interventions--for the patients that need them the most.

Reserachers @MayoClinic applied #AI to EKGs (an easily accessible, inexpensive test taking <10 seconds) to create a noninvasive test for asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction, a precursor to heart failure. Much lower-cost alternative to current tests.

TLDR: Advancements in med are increasingly from innovators outside of delivery systems; Lack of patient adherence, migration of medicine from the hospital and new payment models driving investment; VC $$ in #DigitalHealth still growing ($41B this decade).
