Campaigning since 2013 for people and animals, asking the government to 'regulate and license the use of fireworks.'
Joined November 2014
Current firework laws are loaded in favour of people who like fireworks, but don’t recognise the environmental damage & misery they cause. Our campaign is to rebalance the law. We campaign for vulnerable people, pets, wildlife & common sense. #fireworklawchange @10DowningStreet.

It’s the same all over the country @10DowningStreet and @YvetteCooperMP the law is inadequate and so is the policing of it. People and animals get terrified, peace is shattered and there’s an environmental impact too.
@fireworkreform @10DowningStreet It’s the same in Plymouth (I emailed my MP @LukePollard) . Nights draw in and thugs lets them off for months on end Autumn and Winter (and sometimes summer). It’s random times so I don’t know when I can take my terrified dog out. Kids in park chucking them at people too.

Are you going to stipulate family friendly fireworks i.e. quieter ones, for the Blackheath firework display @LewishamCouncil? Better still, have drones or lasers. You must consider ALL residents, including non humans and pollution in your event planning.
bbc.com
An events company applies for a licence to host an annual fireworks show for up to 29,999 people.

Bradford again! “We shouldn’t have people opening tuck shops every other month, selling wholesale fireworks from their living rooms”@10DowningStreet we are telling you that firework law needs urgent review, people and animals are suffering everyday!.

Those fighting against late night fireworks in Bradford are being targeted - including imams being “chased out of parks”, it is claimed.

How many times do we hear the phrase “like living in a war zone” in relation to fireworks? The situation is out of control @10DowningStreet, our towns and cities are like living in a war zone and it’s only August! Do something about fireworks, current laws are not working.
🗞️ NEWS: Fresh anger at Oldham fireworks as police vow to act. 'It comes after The Oldham Times covered the latest round of late-night disturbances impacting Chadderton residents, who said the experience was similar to "living in a warzone".'.

Warning people that you’re having a firework display isn’t the panacea some people think it is. A warning is saying: sedate your pet, go away for the night, wear ear plugs, while I burn £££s for 15-20 minutes because I don’t actually care that much. Licensed displays only please.
@fireworkreform @10DowningStreet We had a post on a community page the week after Nov 5th of someone stating they would be having 5 firework displays at their home from Fri to Sun, she thought warning people made it ok, she didnt understand the backlash she got for having 5 displays over three days for no reason.

To save you reading this, the councillor doesn’t urge restraint when using fireworks, he merely advises to use fireworks at your wedding before 11pm to avoid prosecution. Expect better from your elected representatives. The comments are worth reading! .
lancashiretelegraph.co.uk
The concerns were raised over the weekend when a number of weddings took place in the Bastwell and Daisyfield area of Blackburn.

Just a reminder, you can tell your MP about your views on fireworks. Another round of letters before firework season would be extremely beneficial to the campaign. Use this link to find your elected representative:.

People who do not use fireworks or attend displays have a right to live a peaceful life without night after night of window shaking bangs the authorities seem powerless to prevent. The Government must make changes to the existing firework law @10DowningStreet.

We have seen how the world famous Edinburgh Tattoo scaled back their use of fireworks to reduce the event's environmental impact, but many seaside summer displays allow toxic firework debris to fall into the sea and have no regard for coastal wildlife. @DanielZeichner 5/7.

Residents near a Yorkshire wedding venue complain “A massive firework display was ignited at 11:30 pm earlier this week by wedding attendees”. If they couldn’t buy fireworks without a license this kind of firework misery wouldn’t happen @10DowningStreet .
