Figma Buzz is here! Proud of this one. It took time, care, and a lot of iteration. We built Buzz with brand designers and marketers in mind, making it easier for both to work side by side in Figma and turn brand assets into production-ready content. It’s in open beta starting

Introducing slop-loader: a prompt-to-code loader for Next.js/Webpack. Import LLM outputs as build-time content, storing only raw prompts in your repo. Just `import Header from "./Header__prompt.tsx"` and render `<Header />`. https://t.co/HhPKygMBsD s/o @finerflame for idea

had tons of fun chatting about the behind the scenes of building figma slides from the early days to now
How do you take a new product idea, and turn it into a successful product? Figma Slides started as a hackathon project a year and a half ago – and today it’s a full-on product, with more than 4.5M slide decks created by users. I talked with two founding engineers on this

Yo! It's day 9 of Figma Slides drops. Check out these new transition controls! You can now customize duration, change your easing curve, and switch your trigger to a delay. More coming soon but for now @jakub_swiadek and I hope this unblocks your advanced slide transitions!
It’s Day 8 of Figma Slides drops 👀 The Tone Dial now better supports more languages! And in case you need more control, you can easily rewrite text by prompting yourself.

8/ After a much deeper-dive into the unpredictable world of browser rendering, we turned on this new animation today! Enjoy creating stickies with a bit of ✨ extra satisfaction ✨

7/ Then, I debugged further to learn that Safari had a niche rendering bug for an SVG’s drop-shadow when its parent element cut it off slightly. Instead of using a hack from Stack Overflow, I actually fixed the bug at its core!

6/ I had to dig deeper! In doing so, I spent a week learning about how browsers treat GPU layers, and specifically how the backdrop-filter: blur(0) propagated across dozens of other elements, slowing everything to a halt. Shout out to Safari’s rendering debugging tools!

5/ Unfortunately, removing that line made Safari extremely angry.

4/ We spent a few days running tests on my animation’s performance, removing lines of code in hopes of finding what slowed FigJam down so significantly. It turned out to be a hack with zero upvotes I found on Stack Overflow that fixed a few bugs in Safari! Problem solved, right?

3/ The team was overjoyed after playing with this satisfying corner animation! However, our new automated performance tests discovered that I increased our staging environment’s frame duration from 28ms to over 80ms (which is a 3x slowdown in performance!)

2/ The initial brainstorming was fantastic! I spent a few days hacking together multiple CSS transforms and clip paths to make this curl shrink and expand. Here are the behind the scenes on the animation! I scaled an SVG curl and masked the sticky background with 2 clip paths.
