the AIA is an extraordinarily complex legal instrument, often marked by suboptimal legislative drafting, and this made me realise that many others must be struggling with the same interpretive questions. That realisation sparked the idea to turn my notes into a full commentary!

This book began as a document I wrote for myself — an attempt to make sense of the AI Act at a time when many of its provisions felt almost impossible to decipher. As I worked through the text, it became increasingly clear that the challenge was not just personal but structural:
