Agree with LeCun. You see this in how perception itself works — we don't register what has no use to us. Generality is an illusion created by not noticing our blind spots. The umwelt feels total from inside.

Yann LeCun says there is no such thing as general intelligence Human intelligence is super-specialized for the physical world, and our feeling of generality is an illusion We only seem general because we can't imagine the problems we're blind to "the concept is complete BS"

Maybe the best INFJ video on YT? Just a very accurate description of the experience and touches many aspects which are rarely discussed elsewhere. Deserves more views, IMO: https://t.co/FEPgOl0cLu

Claude Code integration in @zeddotdev is very nice, but it gets completely stuck for me because I have this in my git config: [core] pager = diff-so-fancy | less --tabs=4 -RFX In effect, all git diff calls fail, because they're waiting for someone to quit less.

This is actually one thing I regularly use Gemini for - it works very well. I've actually switched to using Gmail/Gcalendar/Tasks combo for my productivity needs and Gemini is doing a great job helping me manage that.

Claude's ability to search Gmail desperately needs to be rewritten to use subagents - half the time I try to run a search it runs out of tokens in the main chat session and tells me I should start a new one

This does indeed work great. I call it "ask don't tell" (inverting a traditional coding idea I learned from Michael Feathers back when).

Brilliant AI coding tip from our session with @grahammcbain (@Sourcegraph): When working with a complex codebase, have your agent explain the system to YOU first. This loads context into the window without you having to do anything. The agent teaches you, then builds for you.

You can and absolutely should vibe-think with LLMs. That's the best use-case for this technology, by far.

Building software is only 10% about writing code, and 90% about thinking what code to write, why you should write it, and how to do it well. You can delegate the code-writing part to an LLM, but so far, they have shown they can’t handle the thinking part. It’s called

consciousness seems inherently relational - either in relation to itself, or to some other. it emerges out of a relation. it gets more tricky with unconsciousness. maybe the more interesting question to ask about AI is whether it is unconscious?

Datafusion running a federated SQL query on data live-streamed from PostgreSQL instance and BigQuery table via BigQuery Storage API. Projection and predicate pushdown works, and it's pretty fast. Claude wrote all the code, including PostgreSQL and BQ Storage backends 🤷

Any argument about AI that involves a normative "should" is weak. It is a form of coping with large-scale change from the position of impotence. A tale as old as history - see Thucydides, The Melian Dialogue.

One thing I haven't seen anyone talk about regarding Opus 4.1 vs 4 - the outputs seem shorter, across the board. Maybe it's just me. Anthropic is introducing a form of context compression in this way?

Ugh, after working in Go, Python is such a pain in the context of agent augmented coding- too many ways to do the same thing, outputs are so inconsistent :(

cool moment: #claudecode just spontaneously tried `go doc` to verify its assumptions about an unfamiliar API got it wrong first? no problem - Go's tooling made self-correction automatic this is what great language design looks like for AI-assisted development #golang
