I can’t describe what a thrill exploring a new part of our planet has been. It’s just totally unbelievable. My mind is blown. #OctoOdyssey @SchmidtOcean

My student Griffin just sent me this profoundly sad photo of a Great Bowerbird bower. The painting on the right depicts what the bower should look like, filled with pebbles, shells, and bones. Nowadays, the birds use what they can most easily find in their surroundings: garbage.

Now that I have keys+office, I guess I can share that I have officially begun my role as Curator of Mammals @DenverMuseumNS. I am honored to join this institution and could not be more thrilled to be part of such an innovative and forward-thinking group of people (and specimens).
