Wrote about how I think about AI's effects on the labor market! I think about occupations as being on a Causal/Negotiation paradigm, and how that seems to be an underlying factor in determining replacement risk.

"you don't have adhd, young asian man. just study harder!"
I am on the (red-hot) 2025–26 academic job market! I study wide-ranging, important, and contemporary issues in education policy and domestic violence. My job market paper studies academic accommodations in higher education: trends and drivers, who uses them, and academic impacts.

I’m on the #EconJobMarket! School districts have been eliminating achievement-based admissions in an effort to promote access to the most sought-after schools for disadvantaged and underrepresented students. But what happens when this change occurs, and can we do better? 1/12

the simpson's paradox strikes again (and also there is strong literature supporting the crazy idea that more money from richer homes means better public schools)

IS THAT THE PILOT SINGING VOICE FOR ALASTOR FROM HAZBIN HOTEL IN FRONT OF THE SUN??
Here's the full photo briefly featured in my recent video post showing @BlackGryph0n against the full solar chromosphere after his jump. Crazy how small he looks despite being nearly 50,000,000x closer! This ended up being my most popular print (vs the closeup) linked in my bio.

this story also demonstrates the positive qualities of context-specific meritocracy!
When I was in college at UChicago, I dated another student from Appalachia. She once told me she had gotten straight As in high school calculus -- and when she took the AP exam, she got a 1, the worst possible grade. (And she was pretty talented, she later on pretty well at
