'22! Mit dabei sind 2 FChO-Betreuer. Die besten 15 TN bewiesen im Vorbereitungsseminar bereits gestern ihre Fähigkeiten im Labor. Heute knacken sie noch einmal Nüsse in der Theorieklausur. Viel Erfolg!
...in – and probably the biggest learning experience of my scientific career: Not only in chemistry, computer science, lab automation, and machine learning, but also in creativity, "out-of-the-box" thinking, strategic decision making, and working in a large international team.

I agree, those "reactivity cliffs" would be the most informative points to learn from. And the "good news" is that this type of data is frequently generated in organic chemistry labs. It's just hardly ever reported...

Definitely aromatic by Hückel's rule (and by smell)...but it also shows some "arene-like" reactivity. I think aromaticity is a good model for starting to learn organic chemistry. But as for all models, we have to be aware of its limitations.

Fully agreed! From our experience, RFs hardly overfit, even if you provide them with tons of features (up to multiple thousands). And even then, there's surprisingly little influence by the choice of hyperparameters.
Organic lasers? 🔦The fundamental principle is the same as for traditional crystal lasers – just that the emissive gain material is a (conjugated) organic molecule or polymer. Right now, proof of concept is there, but it’s still a “high-risk, high-gain” (pun intended) technology
