Immense planning and technical precision was required for this absolutely preposterous (but real) view: I captured my friend @BlackGryph0n transiting the sun during a skydive. This might be the first photo of it's kind in existence. See a video of this moment in the reply πŸ‘‡

I know you think it's just an AI image produced by typing few words.... But NO, this is an real image taken by @AJamesMcCarthy and one could write entire book on how it was achieved....

Good overview of the landing. We nominally target a few hundred feet away from Jacklyn to avoid a severe impact if engines fail to start or start slowly. We’ll incrementally reduce that conservatism over time. We are all excited and grateful for yesterday. Amazing performance by

Here's the full photo briefly featured in my recent video post showing @BlackGryph0n against the full solar chromosphere after his jump. Crazy how small he looks despite being nearly 50,000,000x closer! This ended up being my most popular print (vs the closeup) linked in my bio.

Here's my 80mm refractor vid of @SpaceX Starship flying south of Florida on IFT-11. The beauty of the sunlit exhaust blew me away! I'll have the full 4K version along with the 11" telescope video later; you can see the silhouette of Starship against its exhaust!
