With mega corporations getting a huge tax break from the Trump Administration, it's time for Washington State to get serious about taxing the ultra-wealthy. Iāll be hosting a town hall to talk about it with community leaders before the 2026 Washington State legislative session.

Fascism aims to divide us. But across WI, people are coming together to demand something betterācare, community and real change. Iām running for governor because I believe in a govt that works for working people. Thanks to @madison_365 for hosting this thoughtful conversation.

Worth mentioning that POTS is in many cases a function of Long COVID. If we canāt take public health seriously because everybody deserves to be safe and healthy, we should do it because avoidable respiratory infections will tank your teamās postseason.
Kristaps Porzingis dealt with āPOTSā last postseason, per @FredKatz. āPOTS, an autonomic condition that can dramatically increase a patients heart rate when standing up instead of spread horizontal⦠In his worst moments Porzingisā heart rate could stabilize while laying down,

Last week, we were honored to send a delegation of 40 DSA elected leaders & rank-and-file members from chapters big & small across the country to #Cuba, where they delivered hundreds of pounds of solidarity aid & learned about the achievements & challenges of Cuban socialism.

Niche conspiracy theory I am starting to consider is that Seattleās huge Nintendo jersey patches have gradually been getting even bigger over the course of the year

Kinda like Seattleās chances in game 7: the pressure of being one win away from the World Series will be new to Toronto today, whereas the Mariners - who self-destructed last night - are now accustomed to it.

A general strike stopped the fascist coup in S. Korea. A general strike is how the Italian people forced their rightwing PM to send a Navy ship protect the flotilla. It's the only thing that'll be effective v Trump.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson calls for a general strike against the ātyrannyā of Trump and the greed of the ultra-rich. An estimated 300,000 filled the streets for the āNo Kingsā march, powerfully rejecting the federal governmentās āOperation Midway Blitzā against the city.

George Kirby is the most relatable Mariner, in that at any given moment he appears to be exactly as neurotic as the fans are. True āEverymanā character.

Would suggest a chapter from Robert Shillerās āIrrational Exuberance.ā Also, Kim Murphyās 2002 LA Times article āThe Decline and Fall of Seattleā describes the impact the crash had on a city that made fortunes during the dot-com bubble.
Folks, asking for a friend: Are there any good, short, clear pieces that you use to teach students about the history of the Dot-Com bubble and bust? Extra points for these traits: Written as narrative history, chapter/article length, free or easily obtainable.

Imagine a 2009 with a relief package scaled like the CARES Act, where too big to fail banks were broken apart and reorganized, where cramdown kept people millions of people in their homes, and where we avoided the ZIRP era that built the decadent tech oligarchy.
Itās so funny how 2008 happened we all learned a super valuable lessons (banks and big corporations are ruining our country) and then the banks got worse and the corporations got bigger

Foreign students pay full tuition and arenāt eligible for aid. They end up subsidizing American students. Some colleges depend on foreign students and would go under without them. Weāre about to see that happen.

Hereās >>The Daily Mail<< Warning us about long COVID. Something our Public Health authorities donāt do in their social media comms. If they donāt change course, this is all going to get a lot worse. It will not get better.
