Captivated by @extinctionphoto this morning - what a beautiful and important project. These pictures are a homage to biodiversity, a eulogy to everything we've lost and a call to arms to fight for everything that still remains #extinction #MarcSchlossman

Spending much of this week in @FieldMuseum, I’m reminded how inspirational the museum and its people are. And how crucial natural history collections are in conservation, education and research re: preserving biodiversity
For the first time in Earth's history, a single species is the cause of mass extinction. 🚶👀 Humans are changing the Earth in ways that are accelerating the normal rate of extinction from one species every four years to four species every hour. 📈

None of the work CBCM does would matter if we didn't have wildlife rehab partners to care for the birds we find. CBCM regularly takes injured birds to Willowbrook Wildlife center for treatment. We cannot thank them enough for all the work they do. https://t.co/o9TBQPEj5Y

I've seen CBCM volunteers in action, working with them in the dark, early hours of the morning in Chicago's Loop during migration. Amazing, dedicated people doing important, necessary work.
6.5 million birds crossed Cook County last night. This morning, CBCM rescued & recovered nearly 300 birds, including this unfortunate vireo. This tragedy is preventable. Chicago must take action now to change. It starts with all of us. It ends with the life of an innocent bird.

Some of the best coverage yet of the 'Extinction' book – because it focuses on what we need to be doing right now: species, habitat & ecosystem #conservation. Thank you @jenngwalter and @inversedotcom for the opportunity to get the project's messages out there.

The project features many conservation successes, species brought back from the brink of extinction. Far and away the biggest cause of biodiversity loss = habitat loss. What kind of world do we want to live in? We know what to do, we need the will to do it...
So proud @marcschlossman @extinctionphoto His 10-year project w/ @FieldMuseum is remarkable but disturbing. All the wondrous creatures no longer on earth, thanks to #ClimateCrisis Extinction - Our fragile relationship w/ life on Earth https://t.co/zp2spm2Em6 via @YouTube
