Good news: @BisonWallet will allow Monero users to choose their own level of security and convenience when setting up a wallet. They can run their own node, or connect to an existing remote node (e.g similar to @cakewallet)

@Justin_Bons @GiftopherC In terms of on-chain scaling, it is already quite good and there are more plans to continue improving it in the future. For some concrete numbers, it's currently less than 2 hours for the initial sync of the fully validating node (dcrd) despite only being about 18.5k blocks shy.
