I had my portrait painted by an artist from @camvalleyforum. It was a great day. Encouraging to see so many humans speaking up for the rivers and wildlife, as we can't speak up for ourselves. Thank you @RiverActionUK for organising, and @sascampaigns for putting on the coach

I met river guardian and top legal brain, barrister @paulpowlesland. He says rivers should have legal rights. I agree!. Why should @SouthWestWater be able to hire lawyers to defend its interests, while the much older and more important River Exe can’t?. #rightsofnature

All rivers are polluted, often by farming and sewage. Soil erosion, road runoff and over-abstraction are also big problems. In the sea, there's not enough small fish and plankton for us to eat. Above all else, there's the threat of climate change. We salmon like it cold!

It was great to meet river creatures and their human friends from the Rivers Dart, Lynher, Evenlode, Cam, Mole and more. We all face the same problems!. No river in England or Northern Ireland is in good overall health.

My first glimpse of the Thames. Why is a salmon from the Exe so far from home?. Salmon numbers in England and Wales are at their lowest level since records began. We are at risk of extinction!. So I had to go to London to protest.#MARCHFORCLEANWATER #floodthestreets

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife spotted the fish on a tributary above the former J.C. Boyle Dam site, just north of the California border. Several more soon followed it.

Well said Paul! .A delegation from Tidelines will be marching on the @MarchforWater with @FriendsRiverExe .Look out for our giant salmon totem 🐟.#FloodTheStreets #Salmon #Devon.
I’m joining the @MarchforWater this Sunday at 11am on the Albert Embankment, to demand that we have action on the many promises made on the state of our rivers. I hope to see as many of you who care about our rivers & seas as possible there, to send a clear message to the

22 human legs, 50 miles and a Salmon called Samantha. Following the cancellation of the full Salmon Run, some of us ran up the river on Sunday to make sure the annual celebration of the endangered Salmon and their upriver migration still took place.

Well this is depressing news. Same story in the Exe (though we don't have the same sophisticated counting operation). As weather stopped our #SalmonRun in September, a small group of us will run with the salmon from Exmouth to Exmoor tomorrow to highlight their plight.
Annual salmon count shows lowest number of juveniles for more than 20 years. Find out how MSA member, @GWCTFisheries are working to identify what is causing this and what can be done to reverse it:

A very well-deserved congratulations to all of our ultra-runners! They’ve run 40 miles from Exmouth to Exebridge over the course of roughly 6 to 9 hours - well done!! .And a huge congratulations to joint winners - George and Lestyn🙌.#salmonrun24.#runsalmonrun.#runwiththesalmon

Fuelling up our runners for the journey ahead! As the Salmon feeds on small invertebrates and insects, our runners eat an array of foods such as custard, tomato soup, rice pudding, and homemade vegan flapjacks. #salmonrun24.#runsalmonrun.#runwiththesalmon
