Had such a good time writing football/soccer poems for Michigan Quarterly's special soccer folio, subs open until the end of the month. I reflected on growing up in 90s Northern Ireland, how football tops held currency, clear symbols of identity (not necessarily for the good) ⚽️

At the risk of starting discourse I’m not equipped (or want) to deal with, I’m not advocating wasting hardworking editors time. Target mags you actually want, just saying things (and people) can and sometimes do change. It’s a process, I suppose, respect all round is key 🧡

I’m not above bumping this for the afternoon/evening crowd (shameless) 🕷️ 🕸️

Curious who else believes this because it's a hill I would consider dying on: submitting to a mag as a writer does not automatically mean you consent to being published by that mag.
