This is a wonderful film from Menelik Shabazz, who sadly passed away a few years ago. So good to see that it is being shown today. We screened it several times back in the early 90s, alongside many other major Black British films as part of our work #VokaniFilms in Birmingham.

One thing I enjoy about these lovely May Bank holidays is that they allow a much needed pause to catch up on reading. ICYMI, I enjoyed working with @PenAHay @guerilla_jen +others on this short piece highlighting some of the ways that universities support and empower young people.
Besides awarding degrees, how are our universities supporting young people? Our Co-Director @evelyntcce explores this question in our latest @ArtsPro article, contributions from @PenAHay, @guerilla_jen, Rebecca Johnson and Akil Hunte. Delighted to publish this compelling new essay from @artofnoises "The notion of “haunting the archive” (Young, 2023) came to me over time. It was developed initially during the pandemic when the site of my research became inaccessible, and I was forced to haunt it remotely."
The Spectral Artist in the Academy This is one of a series of reflections of the role of the artist within the academy. This fascinating essay is framed by the author’s experience of his recently completed practice-based PhD in Ireland. Read here: https://t.co/FzBncx4dfA

Not only a really exciting looking new publication but there will also be an event in late Jan to share the findings.
Absolutely thrilled to celebrate publication day for this new resource 🎉🥳 After being asked by both the policy community and academic colleagues FOR YEARS ‘What does good policy engagement with A&H research look like?’, here are case studies & advice which I hope will help.

Straight on the Friday morning reading pile! “Innovation policies are increasingly 'shifting away from top-down and centralised approaches towards policies that favour cooperative, multi-actor and often more 'place-based' approaches”.
