This will turn out just like when banks tried to create their own blockchains. It didn’t make sense because it didn’t take advantage of network effects. Banks will fully embrace DeFi including offering customers stablecoin yield in public blockchains eventually for the same.
The banks are trying to stop America citizens from getting yield on their savings. They want to keep it for themselves. Absolutely outrageous rent-seeking. Stablecoin yield belongs to the people not the banks.

Ive been thinking about this for a long time. The cost to get involved with $ETH is minimal compared to $BTC. Mining for bitcoin is a bigger cost on the system than staking ETH. The only way to subsidize bitcoin mining is to sell bitcoin, whereas staking ETH should cover the.
