This was my main takeaway from the piece, although I'd say that the decline in the quality of these institutions parallels the rejection of merit as the #1 criteria for hiring, not just the anti-white-male discrimination that was the focus of the piece.
The unstated argument in the Compact piece is that the quality of the institutions declined in parallel with their adoption of anti-white-male discrimination. Films, novels, newspapers, and academic journals all got markedly worse during the DEI Decade, 2014-2024.

I've watched @benshapiro since 2016, and he’s been the most consistently principled commentator by far. Many others I started watching around the same time have slowly become captured by their audiences to the point that they barely resemble their former selves.
