H2M architects + engineers recently submitted the completed designs for Eastport Elementary School's and Dayton Avenue School's makerspaces to American School & University Magazine. The designs were published in the magazine's Educational Interiors Showcase edition in Aug. 2025.

DAS 4th grader Mabel Gross received the Judges Choice Award at the BNL Elementary Science Fair, a special recognition that acknowledges specific qualities that stand out to the judges and highlight unique aspects that might not be captured by the standard judging rubric.

District students attending Dayton Avenue, Eastport, South Street and Tuttle Avenue elementary schools donned their patriotic colors and handmade hats as they raised their American flags during separate Flag Day celebrations on June 13.

The District gave senior James Lukas a graduation ceremony during the June 12 boe meeting. James will report to military duty two days before the high school's annual commencement exercises, to be held on June 27, and will not be able to attend the annual tradition.
