The upcoming 6.31 update will include a Pump Shotgun rebalance to improve effectiveness: damage will increase in close quarters and range will be reduced slightly. Additionally, ALL shotguns will have a minimum damage of 3 pellets (even if only 1 or 2 hit).

Simply adjusting shotgun rarity colors in Fortnite v3.4 had a fascinating effect on player behavior. Pump Shotgun colors shifted up and kills increased 36%; Tactical Shotgun colors shifted down and kills decreased 23%. There was no change in actual rarity or power.

To clarify storm edge damage: behavior in 5.40 is to break all player built structures close the storm edge in phases 7, 8, and 9. The pulse happens when each closing storm finishes shrinking. Objects deep in the storm (or in the middle of the safe area) are unaffected.

We've just released a hotfix that resolves the issue causing too many Epic/Legendary Burst Rifles from spawning. Some players may notice this fix before others and it may take up to roughly an hour for all servers to receive it.
