Every elected Democrat - not just in California but nationwide - should be on TV and radio today telling this story to the American people and condemning Trump’s DHS agents for trying to round up first graders in elementary school.

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes & unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had "parental consent." They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This was a test run for a police state.

You can’t redirect tax money to a private trash company because you don’t like the municipal waste contract. And you certainly don’t get a government check to buy a car just because the bus schedule doesn’t suit you.

“Hospitals in NH are driving up costs for patients … through the use of ‘facility fees.’ When hospitals acquire independent doctor’s offices, they start charging these extra fees, even though the care remains the same.” #NH https://t.co/sJiX7CCmhJ

WHEN PATIENTS in New Hampshire seek medical care, they expect fair prices and high-quality services. Unfortunately, our current health care system is failing them. Large hospital systems are buying up

Those few extra innings he got with his dad began a tradition that has inspired others to find ways to stay connected to loved ones they've lost. Now we're making a documentary to share the story & help people navigate grief. Check it out and support the Kickstarter if you can!

Ben Light's father died at 58. As his 60th birthday approached, to mark the day with joy instead of sadness, he did what he thought his dad would have done — go to Wrigley Field & watch the Cubs. https://t.co/42CM6j9KrT

Ben Light lost his father way too soon. But thanks to the Cubs, every year he gets a few extra innings with his dad. This is his story.

I get that every budget requires tough decisions. But as the saying goes, a budget is a moral document. Cutting school funding says we don't value our kids and we don't value our future.

Students experiencing poverty, or learning English, need MORE resources, not less. Cutting the school budget hurts not just students and teachers, but the entire city.

This is a district whose per-pupil spending is already the 6th LOWEST in the state, while having the MOST students in the state (by almost 1,400) eligible for free and reduced lunch (which is a reasonable proxy for student poverty), and the MOST students in the state ...

If the Board of Mayor & Alderman passes that budget, the district will have to make major cuts, including 38 school positions and more than $300,000 in transportation costs.

Just a random reminder that trickle-down economics was invented by conservatives in the 1980s to justify massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. It’s been nothing short of a disaster.

We knew it, but seeing the data laid out – it's still shocking: higher taxes for most, deep cuts to Medicaid & SNAP—all to fund tax breaks for the top 1%. It's difficult to fully grasp the scale of the con being perpetrated on Americans right now by the Trump administration.
