Canada in a nutshell. Thanks to the ever eloquent @alexbrown17

It’s morning in Canada. A mother steps on a government needle at her child’s playground. 15 Conestoga 'students' in a dimly lit Brampton basement wait their turn to use a single bathroom. A little old lady on a fixed pension in the sticks opens the mail to a $300 carbon levy…

I lost a childhood friend today over vaccine mandates. I know many of you have lost jobs, friends and family as well. Even as a frontline healthcare worker, I could not convince my former friend of the harms of mandates and lockdowns. Even as I explained what I saw every day.

Can I be honest? I once thought shots would work and mass vaccination, along with natural immunity, would end the pandemic. I realized how wrong I was when we were still wearing masks and vaxxed people were still getting Covid. We shouldn’t be hard on each other. We were fooled.

Kids are getting absolutely slammed with respiratory viruses right now. I’ve been admitting many more than usual. No covid, just many of the regular seasonal viruses. They have no immune systems after living in a bubble for two years.

As the covid narrative begins to crumble around the world and governments look to an exit, we must remember the social and moral disasters that many of them created. This resulted in massive harm to many, societal divide and the near destruction of the social fabric we hold dear.

Nothing I ever learned in medical school said to punish someone who declined a treatment, or to punish someone for the choices they’ve made. In fact, we were taught to be non-judgemental and to consider the patient’s individual experiences and situation. I still teach that now.

When hospitals thought it was okay to let go of 20-30 unvax’d staff each, this is the result - mass chaos, staffing shortages and sick calls daily. They won’t hire these people back out of spite or brainwashing, I’m not sure. They’d rather people die than have an unvax’d nurse.
