Systematic study of surface material is revealing lengthy diachronic use of the tower area, from Archaic (ca. 8th c. BCE) through Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine. /fin

We are pioneering the use of certain approaches in this region. Geophysics is rarely - if ever - used on Cycladic islands, and this might be the first time on Paros. Results will help inform future work in the area. /4

Archaeological sites in this area are vanishing rapidly under enormous development & tourism pressure, so this is also a key opportunity to document cultural heritage landscapes under threat. /3

We are looking to get a better idea of function, ancillary structures, and date/use phases, working with the Cycladic Ephoreia & Greek Ministry of Culture who are completing small-scale excavation alongside. /2
