Ekin-Su and Davide are too high fashion for PLT or ASOS. I demand a series of Dolce & Gabbana ‘Summertime in Tuscany” styled billboard ads, Davide will be the next face of John Paul Gaultier cologne. Ekin-Su has the potential to be the UK’s own Julia Fox.

I finished this book last night. I know it sounds like hyperbole but I think it’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever read. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to come across it. I want to throw it at everyone.
Just had the most stupidly London experience. Went to the Ladies ponds and ended up swimming with Helena Bonham Carter. Had a great chat about how people who go there in February are completely nuts. Great morning.
We have been without hot water since Friday and have just learnt from the boiler man that he can’t fix our boiler because:
- It’s the worst he’s ever seen
- It’s from 1998
- It’s full of dead bees
It would be an awful situation but the dead bees are objectively funny.
*slams Art History gavel* We are dissecting Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy in the same way art historians dissected whether or not Giovanna Cenami is pregnant in the Arnolfini Portrait.
Just to say - made this last night. Floored by how cheap it is to do and how fucking good it tastes. Can DM the full recipe for non NYT Food subscribers!
Accidentally bought a Kittinger side table for £40 today. The woman said she thinks it’s from the late 1800s. Googled it and turns out the furniture maker kitted out the White House. Pays to have a good eye!
Completely obsessed with the chef of the viral “terrible” Michelin starred restaurant who has, in defence of his food, written this as his official media statement.
Just cackled at Phoebe Saatchi Yates, daughter of Charles Saatchi, saying “London is booming in a way none of us expected.” Proof that all the money n the world doesn’t buy you a modicum of self awareness. Have to respect it!
I’m dead, they stopped us boarding a train at St Pancras because they found a suspicious nike shoebox left on the carriage. Turns out it was full of live crabs
A very canny choice to choose Velasquez’ Rokeby Venus. In 1914, the same painting was slashed with a butchers knife by the suffragette, Mary Richardson.
Someone retweeted this again, so shouting into the void that there are only 5 of Szabó’s novels that have been translated into English and that feels like a crying shame / missed opportunity!

Weirdest thing just happened. Had my phone snatched out of my hand by a guy on a bike, and I screamed NO GIVE THAT BACK and he just dropped my phone and rode off. I’m laughing as I type this what the fuck
I despise this whole framing of the The Royal Family's press team as bumbling, caught-off-guard-but-wanting-to-be-nice. It's designed to put Meghan and Harry is a bad light and to paint the Royal Family's press machine as gentle and well wishing. They know what they're doing.
Totally floored by Philip Guston at the Tate. Took the day off to see it before it closed and I am so glad I did. Amazing to see the way figurative form slowly wrestled its way into his abstract works. Feels like he was called to paint the way he did. Glorious!
Not to over egg the point, but Channel 4 moving its HQ to Leeds is amazing news and I hope the ripple effect it will have for young people wanting to work in the media outside of the South of England is enormous.
Barbarian invasion.
Exhibit A: The bookcases I built housing my book collection.
Exhibit B: How the new owners chose to use the space.
(I can never unsee this.)
Still, and often, think about the (still anonymously created I think?) parody academic art history journal, November and its faked round table on Round Tables
I want to see a TV ad of David Gandy and Davide on a boat somewhere in the Mediterranean and they’re wearing tiny speedos and advertising a new Gillette razor blade
I have a new job! I am stupidly excited to be joining the BBC as a publicist for all things BBC Radio 3, Music and Arts.
Editor friends, heads up you’ll likely be receiving an email from me at some point... + if you work at the BBC, lmk as I’m keen to say hello, do coffee, etc!
Professional news (!) - and that is that next Monday I start my new role at The Barbican as comms and press officer for the visual arts programme. Dizzy w excitement, thrilled to get to started! 🔥💥☄️
I feel like Faye’s doubts about Teddy were coming from a place of insecurity, almost readying herself for the prospect of Teddy not being loyal. Which makes the producers choice of photo, and her being pushed into the arms of Mr Veneers all the more infuriating

It is my 28th birthday. Here I am at a French market, with cigarettes and carrying a paper bag of seven baguettes. I’m too happy to care about being a cliché. Sorry !
Some Norte Dame jokes going round but genuinely hurts to think of all the work of restorers, art historians, architects, engineers, tour guides and front of house staff going up in flames very literally.
I know we love Faye but this is very, very wrong. I don’t think we can excuse that conversation, or the way she has handled it - even if it’s coming from a place of deep insecurity.
I often think about how Derren Brown was allowed to do a TV show where he hypnotised a member of the public, artificially created a realistic world-wide zombie apocalypse and had him wake up in an army hospital, convincing the person that his loved ones were most likely dead.
RIP Richard Serra. Genuinely quite gutted to have seen the news. A completely uncompromising artist, I thinking learning about Tilted Arc changed my life a little bit. How he could make COR-TEN steel so sensual is anyone’s guess.
First time I went to the Tate Mod I remember wandering in to a “child supervision necessary” section without my parents and watching a video of a naked man jumping up and down with clay all over his penis. I thought, that’s modern art baby (!) and have been hooked ever since.
Changing my work phone email signature to “Sent From My IPhone” to “Sent on the move” - just instantly more chic. More glamorous. Suggests a whirlwind existence
Mentally making a list of artists' whose work is most tempting to touch. Serra is up there - Hepworth too? Auerbach for the texture. Am also gripped by the urge to lick Epstein's 'Jacob and the Angel' whenever I see it in the Tate Brit. Big raspberry ripple hunk of alabaster.
Stages of buying a hat:
1)Buying a cool, trendy hat has truly turned me from a girl into a woman.
2)*person laughs on the street* is that person laughing at my hat, is it my hat, Is IT mY HAt
3)Melancholia
Back with the family for Christmas. Word within certain Leeds circles is that Marcelo Bielsa has bought a dog and jhas oined a dog walking group. My father is now also trying to join the dog walking group.
Thrilled that I am now able to talk about this!! One of my favourite artists and I mean it when I say the series is so, so good. Think Arthur Russell and Shostakovich all in one place. On

It’s my birthday today and James organised for Romaine from Selling Sunset to send me a video message. He says he wants to try my Madeleines. I’m crying.
All inclusives are in, Airbnb is out.
I am over spending stupid money to live in someone else’s flat, cook own meals and buy my own flights. Give me a holiday so relaxing it kills off my brain cells. The only choice I want to make is between unlimited Margaritas or Pina Coladas.
"Tonight’s announcement caught officials off guard, with no prepared statements. But everyone is “delighted” incl the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince of Wales." Statements like this literally makes my skin crawl. Subtle, nasty stuff.
OBSESSED with the Albert Einstein tattoo on Luca’s arm. We love a man who appreciates a big brained genius. It’s giving academic representation.
