Tokenized gold requires a custodian, so counterparty risk is always there. Bitcoin's removal of counterparty risk was the entire innovation. Our children will be completely baffled that we used gold before Bitcoin was invented.
Tokenized gold will eat Bitcoin's lunch. Also, who needs a U.S. dollar "stablecoin" when you can have a coin that represents ownership of real gold.

I prompted Claude Code Max Opus 4.1 to add an AI tool with a submenu to the Bezy edit-mode toolbar, including drawing the tools icons as PUA Unicode codepoints in the default font UFO. I know you can fine-tune to get better results, that is what i'm doing to implement this new

And thanks to Ethereum, independent open-source now has many new business models. Plus, being maximally extractive and controlling with a software product won't work as well now that small teams + AI can easily create less extractive alternatives.
"I support it only if it's open source" should be a more common viewpoint.
