Yesterday, https://t.co/FBjL4mPL9v, the website myself and @LouiseShanahan have been working on for the past six months, went live. The site will hopefully make it easier (for you guys at least) to follow the sport, watch more events, and keep up to date with Irish athletes.

'If you're good enough, you're old enough.' This has got to be my least favourite statement in sport - and I have a few.

Found this when looking for results earlier. These lads have done pretty well since finishing 6th team in U20 race at Euro Cross 9 years ago!

Five Irish athletes completed the Tokyo to Tokyo streak (i.e. competed at Tokyo, Eugene, Munich, Budapest, Rome, Paris and Tokyo). Can you name them?

Unlike most individual sports, athletics has held firm since 2022 in not allowing the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes. So with a genocide being carried out in Gaza, why isn't the same discussion being had about Israel? Saturday column: https://t.co/uFOvrAkILw

Repechage rounds to take place at Universal Studios, while the marathon and race walks move to the stadium. I mean, it's athletics; stranger things have happened!

Road to Kujawy Pomorze has a certain ring to it (or it would if I knew how pronounce it)! I do worry how limited my foreign language skills would be if it wasn't for athletics!

Interesting also that the senior races at Euro Cross are scheduled to be just 7290m. U20 races will be 4290m and U23 due to be 5790m!

Random loosely related fact: Efrem Gidey (7th), Peter Lynch (8th) and Darragh McElhinney (9th) who just missed making the Euro Cross team in Gowran two years ago, all made their World Champs debut in Tokyo this month!

Looks like Ireland will send max of 5 per team to Euro Cross this year and not 6 as they have done in previous years. https://t.co/yCYwOD080G

Athletics fans: if you're struggling with all the extra time you suddenly have on your hands, worry not: The Road to Birmingham is now available. We've linked it here and listed the Irish athletes that have hit Auto Qs 👇🏼 https://t.co/KCxccHNP20

The good news is that he now has the Auto Q for Birmingham next year, though still needs to chase it in the 1500m. Oh, wait, he's defending champ in both, so doesn't need the standard. Does World Indoor Champ get wild card? There's got to be one that won't have.

Fun fact: Jakob Ingebrigtsen ran his fastest ever global championship 5000 final today (13:02.00) to finish 10th. His winning times in previous champs were 13:09.24 (2022), 13:11.30 (2023) and 13:13.66 (2024).
