Out of office ✅ @ChloeG_Neuro you are in charge, I am off to stargaze from the top of a (hopefully dormant) volcano - very random summer quest, but one does not choose one's magic trials🧙♂️💫🌌 [thanks @christlet for the inspiration]

🚨Very excited that my first first preprint is online! We asked what differentiates a mitral cell from a tufted cell in an ex vivo preparation. Surprisingly, instead of distinct cell types we found that there is a heterogeneous continuum amongst these cell types
📣Our “Icelandic” preprint is out! Led by our country-hopping, cold-adapted patcher extraordinaire @neuro_sana and done between Cambridge & the Petersen lab @Haskoli_Islands, here’s our offering on the mitral vs tufted cell debate in the olfactory bulb https://t.co/Y6wKjb64Hr 🧵

So glad to be one of the "et al." on the @neuro_sana paper! It was a great experience to work with her and I definitely recommend this paper to anyone who planned to patch the olfactory bulb one day 🧠👃🏻🔬

Mitral and tufted cells in the olfactory bulb (OB) act as an input convergence hub and transmit information to higher olfactory areas. Since first characterized, they have been classed as distinct...

9/ While we are happy to see it finally done, it will be terrible not to have Sana appear in Cambridge every now and then to use the confocal, patch a few neurons, and cook us the most amazing food 🥙🥮🍛
