lessons from this experience 1. empathize with your target audience(s). 2. don’t be afraid to delete, revise, and try again. 3. pivoting can save a stagnant account if you’re hyper-focused on your new direction. 4. always listen to your wife!!

this came just 2 weeks after an account-wide content pivot cost me 20k followers (from 105k to 85k). less than a week later, i gained back 5k followers from this video alone (i’m now at 90k and counting).

and it blew up! tens of thousands of views within hours and a countless shares from both designers and BTS fans.

and, after researching what deleting and reposting could do to the algorithm (spoiler: it’s a bunch of speculation with no definitive answer)… i deleted the original video and posted the new one.
