The position of State Superintendent of Public Instruction does not oversee private schools. It does not oversee home schools. It oversees public education in North Carolina. As such, you should believe in our public schools to run them & to advocate for them.

North Carolina, it's time to start voting! The very soul of public education is on the ballot — it will take champions across the state to meet this moment. Thank you for considering me to be your next NC Superintendent of Public Instruction.

At our debate last night, my opponent said that one of her greatest qualifications is having NO experience in NC public schools. To run a $11 billion budget & guide the education of over 1.3 million students, you ought to have some experience. 🔗 https://t.co/Q1SfoIpCqV

There isn't a public school teacher shortage in NC. There is a shortage of people that want to be shamed, harassed, and underpaid. The problem isn't at an individual school or district level. The problem is with the Republican controlled NC General Assembly. #nced #ncpol

Voters have two choices for the next NC Superintendent of Public Instruction — a role that leads over 1.3 million students and an $11 billion annual budget. Our new campaign ad shows the contrast between us. Thank you for helping to share about the high stakes of this election.

The fact that they didn’t means that these Republicans either didn’t/don’t have a problem with Robinson’s extremism, or thought that it was more important to stay in power by praising a bigot then it was to do the right thing.

North Carolina Republican Party is sticking with the albatross Mark Robinson. They know he said it. They know all of it is true. But their desire to hold power eclipses their desire to serve North Carolinians with integrity. We have to beat them in November. #ncpol

A reminder: Republicans running for office in North Carolina have endorsed Mark Robinson and his extreme agenda. He belongs nowhere near the Governor’s office and we have the chance to deny him the opportunity to ever represent the people of this great state again in November.

The GOP built a brand on three things: wholesome family values, fiscal responsibility, & keeping rural "real America" alive. You saw them bomb the family values part today. While we're all here, let's talk about how they're failing the fiscal & rural "real America" part too.🧵

As I go across NC, I hear about public school buildings needing serious repairs. Educators working 2nd or 3rd jobs. School leaders who make hard choices with limited funding. It’s wrong to then send taxpayer money to fund private school for the wealthy. https://t.co/JwNWirLbg7

Choosing private school is a family decision. As lawmakers, we should be focused on supporting our local public schools, not on spending your tax dollars to subsidize wealthy families who have chosen that route.

Do you want someone who leads an $11 billion budget and 1.3 million students to have a little bit of experience? I’m the only candidate for NC Superintendent of Public Instruction who’s actually been a superintendent. Together, we did great things in Guilford County Schools.

When looking at new “school report card” evaluations using EOG data, remember: The reading test is designed to expect only 50% of students will be labeled “proficient” and 25% “career and college ready.” #ncpol #nced #KidsNotQuotas Receipts:

My wife & I were blessed with two children – both graduated from NC public schools. My opponent for NC Superintendent of Public Instruction hasn’t worked or enrolled her kids in NC public schools. If you want to run our public schools, you should believe in them.

This is the most important race in North Carolina and it will likely be won or lost depending on how many people take the time to vote the full ballot. In 2020 the Dem lost by 401 votes and over 100k people voted but left that race blank. Make sure your people know!
