Rev. Gary Davis was born in 1896 in South Carolina. Blind since infancy, Davis was raised by his grandmother who made him his first guitar. He learned to play from relatives, and in the 1930s he started a gospel ministry. Here he is in 1966 playing “Oh Glory, How Happy I Am.”
