I spent the last 18 months reporting on the process of involuntary discharge from dialysis, a process meant to be reserved for patient violence but that's being used to silence patients. Thank you to the @MotherJones team and @NinaLisss for helping make this piece amazing.

One-third of dialysis patients in the US are Black, but Black patients account for more than half of all involuntary discharges. And industry professionals say that clinics regularly violate the rules when key info is missing—sometimes with fatal results.

Will eating cheese prolong your life? This a dubious cross-sectional study published in a suspected predatory journal. #BetterEvidencePlease

It's the same for me. I get severe bronchitis with every respiratory infection, and being able to avoid hacking up a lung a month or two out of the year is amazing. Not to mention doing all my immunocompromised friends a solid.
