Evidence base: 28 studies (13 adult, 14 paediatric, 1 frail/elderly), including 18 RCTs. Heterogeneity precluded meta-analysis. Most patients experienced clinically significant pain relief; serious adverse events were rare.

Key findings—optimal dosing:. • Adults (18–65, responsive to voice): 800 mcg OTFC balances efficacy and safety. • Children (>5 years, responsive to voice): 10–15 mcg/kg OTFC delivers effective analgesia with minimal serious adverse events.

"Currently the treatment we use for childhood leukaemia are repurposed therapies that we use in adults" says Paediatric Consultant Gemma from @CUH_NHS. The ATICUS Network will increase accessibility to clinical trials for children giving them access to more suitable treatments.
