In Sibembe, Busia County, we led farmers through a hands-on biochar training. Farmers also learned inoculation & application techniques, while the group supervisor was trained on the DMRV app to ensure accuracy & transparency in tracking production.

We led Elukala farmers in a biochar production training, showing how farm residues can be turned into biochar that enriches soils, boosts yields & locks away CO₂. We also trained the groups’ supervisor on DMRV to ensure accurate tracking & reporting of biochar production.

Our biochar initiative now has an official name — Kongolo Biochar Project! . Named after Shikongolo (Luhya for millipede), it reflects Kakamega Forest’s rich culture & biodiversity. The project drives permanent CO₂ removal, better livelihoods & healthier soils.
