ladies n gents. may i introduce to u the executive vice presidents tony khan re-signed to a long-term contract as executive vice presidents, celebrating the firing of their biggest draw, a name bigger than theirs, as well as their company’s—

CM Punk cut one of the best promos of his career.
“There is a glass ceiling and nobody is allowed to break it. That's the simple story of this place. The more popular you are, the more money you make. The more you people cheer for any given superstar, the…
I absolutely adore the beginning of this match. Its vibrant, inspired, and we see a physically outclassed CM Punk being defiant and taking the fight to Undertaker. He doesn't respect him, there's a clear chip on his shoulder and it shows.
Full of piss and vinegar as they say.
man, y’all don’t know how hard the arabs go for Punk. the girls especially. it’s Punk city everywhere. i was at a WWE house show in abu dhabi in 2011. we love him bad here
woke up to a submission response, skimmed through it, sighed and went back to sleep because i’m super well-adjusted to rejections. turns out it was an acceptance.
thinking about how Punk said, “name two people who have made the most money off the name CM Punk”, paused, then looked at Tony and went, “you’re not there yet.”
it’s fucking unfortunate that i had to see my childhood hero return to wrestling & become champion again (& again!) only for all of its mad possibility to unravel like the end of a rope. v few things in life i will always be sore about, this is one of them.
yes to raw poems. yes to angry poems. yes to poems that disembowel your gut. yes to poems that leak & screech & claw. yes to poems & tenderness & carving out space for each other when grief comes knocking on the door & quietly slips into the windowsill of your eye. yes yes yes.
you’re still a poet when you aren’t writing you’re still a poet when you aren’t writing you’re still a poet when you aren’t writing you’re still a poet when you aren’t writing you’re still a poet when you aren’t writing you’re still a poet when you aren’t writing you’re still a
as a kid who didn’t fit in, wasn’t liked & constantly got in trouble for the stuff she said, cm punk was maybe the first guy who made me look at it differently. i thought, here’s this wildly cool dude who gets shit for the same reasons i get shit. i was what, 14? it changed me

hey, i was published in Tigers Zine & i know a lot of folks i follow also had work published with them. which means we all have poems in need of new homes. if you’re a lit mag and you accept previously published work, say hi. 🤟🏻
thinking about how they rushed him into that squash before he was even cleared. thinking about how they let issues fester since the worker’s rights promo. thinking about the bobby fish match. thinking about how he made more money off merch sales for them than their own company.

every week i would internally nerd out watching the Punk/MJF feud unfurl so i said fuck it, and wrote a poem.

the 2014 “phil i bought you your HOUSE” wrestling fan has unfortunately been replaced by the average elite fan who posts a picture of hangman adam page and goes “who can hate him 🥺😥”
end of an era, guys
Nick Hausman has backtracked on the Chris Jericho/Kylie Rae story innuendo on his podcast.
“Oh, we didnt mean Kylie Rae”
“We were taken out of context"
never forget that there were weirdos on here who said cm punk was lying about his fucking dog losing his teeth during brawl out and went to great lengths to also suggest multiple reasons why a dog could lose its teeth
losing my mind again, they really had him come out of retirement only to fire him based on input from top talent and a ‘discipline committee’ that reportedly had matt hardy on it lol
cm punk hearing the crowd chant eddie and going “yeah i love eddie too” and then doing the three amigos is peak asshole representation that prime time tv lacks these days
anybody’s who’s ever tried to call cm punk a liar has, as evidenced by historical data, never turned out to be correct or sexy. sorry to all those affected
if i’m tony khan i’m giving cm punk a raise and maybe a little kiss for managing to keep matt hardy away from my company, a thing i haven’t been able to do for years
hi, super rad news: i’ve joined the

big fan of the girl who thought she’d never write a poem again only for her to wake up the next day and write a poem with infinite tenderness redeeming a biblical villain
it goes without saying that the girl is me. kudos to me

i have written the poem. that’s right. THE poem. it’s so good. i could cry. i’ve never pulled shit out of my ass and pieced it together like this. never. and the hell of it is, all of it makes sense. !!!!!!!!
imagine scrapping with a bunch of dummies, getting suspended, coming back after 10 months and having your boss chant your name and everyone who hates you is like, uhhh sorry to bother you mr. punk, won’t happen again

seven years. didn’t need it. came back because he wanted to, not because he needed to. wrestled every week, wrestled without being cleared, didn’t take shit from anybody, beat people up, had match of the night, said fuck it, left. beast
