Yeah it honestly took me a while to truly learn to love my dark skin. The amount of insults and comments I internalized was a bit mad.
All jokes aside... the hate I felt for my own skin growing up was mad! I’ve had black people and white people even extended family members made me feel like shit because I am the darkest in my family. It’s a deep issue for some dark skinned girls till now!

Dad didn’t want me to go back to school in the US after my first year, I went back regardless with no funding/support from him and graduated with honors & debt free. Currently pursuing my MBA and I couldn’t be happier. Don’t know where I’d be if I chose to stay back in Nigeria 🥴
