I created the first multi-channel splice on testnet!. This marks a significant milestone for splicing, paving the way for the everything-join-splice. Next up: get “splice script” to beta to make the everything-join-splice feasible.

I used to fight CI. We waged epic battles, me vs. the pipeline. But then I realized—the pain is the path. CI breaks you, but it builds you back stronger, faster, better. You must learn to accept the pain of great CI, through this pain you will find joy.

I don’t know what the future holds for El Salvador but right now the place feels full of hope, optimism, and some genuine happiness. Everyone is crazy nice and It feels safer than being the US.

Economically, a few years of not paying “rent” to the cartels are starting to show. Both in that they have more money to invest and they aren’t scared of making their shops look nice. A nice shop would have attracted more harassment from the gang — now not so much.

or if you complained about them invading your home, punishment was worse than North Korea. They would apparently kill your entire extended family. They told a sad story of a family who had all been killed except one mother and son. She had hidden her son out of the country….

Talking with locals I think the reason isn’t so much bitcoin as it is the rounding up of the cartels. Apparently they were charging “rent” to everyone. Small shop, big shop, didn’t matter. They would walk into your home and watch your TV and eat your food. If you didn’t pay….

Being in El Salvador for the first time in a few years the economic improvement is striking. There’s newer shops, nicer cars, construction everywhere. It’s clearly got boom town vibes.

TIL Muslim in Spanish is pronounced “muscle man.”. A local El Salvadorian explained to me one of the reasons she liked @nayibbukele was because he was a “muscle man” and helped bring religious freedom to “muscle men” of El Salvador.
