How much does lead exposure reduce cognitive skills? We find very large and likely permanent effects of exposure during childhood. The largest impact is equivalent to three years of schooling! . Details in the ADB Economics Working Paper, released today

This paper gives causal evidence from a developing country context that children exposed to lead at a young age exhibit worse cognitive outcomes.
